Minimum depth of field work diary:
In todays session we was working on the topic of minimum depth of field. We used different apatures and focal lengths and stood either close to the subject or away from the subject. Personally i found this topic a little boring as i didnt feel that there was any thing interesting to the task. However i do think that it was effective for me to learn as i can use the technique to see a improvement in my photography.
Above is my attempt at a photo showing minimum depth of field. In this image the subject is well focused with the back ground blurred slightly. In this image i was stood close to the subject with a aperture of 5.6 and focal length of 55mm. When shooting this style of photography i found myself getting slightly confused with the focal lengths and apertures, but feel that with some practice i will get the hang of it.
Progression:
I think that this session will be of some use to me as i think that i will use this technique in many of my shoots. As i have chosen to focus on style i can use this technique as a way of focusing on the style in the image and have the background blurred.
