Final evaluation:
I have now reached the end of my unit 3 personal project, as whole i am happy with the way that it came out. I think that my best 40 images show how my photography has progressed throughout the unit and how i have attempted to look at different aspects of beauty within the topic of style.
What went well:
My favourite aspect of this unit is my magazine based/product photography shoots, i think that shoot 5 was one of my technically best shoots, and my location shoot where i place beauty items in places that would be unexpected was my strongest location shoot. I think that these shoots example some of my best photographic work and were also some of the shoots i enjoyed the most. I think that choosing this topic was a good way for me to be able to reflect a small amount of my personality into, this can be shown in shoots 7 and 11, these shoots include images of me applying makeup or my own collection of makeup. I think that these shoots was a fun way for my personality to be apart of my work.
Improvements:
Personally i think that shoots 3 and 12 are something that could have been improved on. My issue with shoot 3 is during the editing stage, i think that i could have been a lot more precise when editing around the lips as i think that they look unnatural and to straight in places. In shoot 12 the composition and the lighting is what makes me not like the shoot.
Overall i have enjoyed being able to have complete personal control over my project. Choosing my topic was fun and allowed me to have complete control over what i took pictures of. I think that my studio work improved the most during this unit, and i am really happy with how the majority of the shoots turned out. I think that this unit has seen my produce some of my best photography work,and i think i have developed skills that will help me as i further into unit 4 of photography.
